Planning a wedding is never an easy task. From feelings of excitement bubbling beneath the surface to a never-ending list of things that need to get done – it’s completely normal to experience a good serving of stress in anticipation of the big day. Nonetheless, soon-to-be-married couples can gain heaps of insights and wedding tips from other couples who’ve been through the whole process themselves.

Indeed, some lessons only make themselves known in hindsight. However, you can also learn a lot from other people’s experiences. So, if you’re looking for wedding tips to help you prepare for your big day, don’t be shy – just ask!

In this article, we’ve compiled a list of tried-and-tested wedding tips to help you plan for your wedding day. Now, all that’s left to do is say ‘I do’!

Wedding Tips for Couples

Start the Day with a Good Breakfast

Butterflies in our stomachs can often make us forget about our hunger, but that doesn’t mean that couples shouldn’t nourish themselves on the morning of their wedding day. Eating a healthy and satisfying breakfast will keep you energised throughout the day. With all the stress that the day may bring, this will help you experience every moment to the fullest. Besides, nobody wants to feel faint on their wedding day, right?

Co-ordinate your Photography Sessions

Wedding photos are a central part of any wedding celebration, but they can also create quite a bit of idle time. To avoid long waits between shoots, it’s best to schedule your photography sessions and let everyone know when their turn is. For example, you can get your family photos taken as soon as you arrive at your reception venue so that they can then enjoy the party. Similarly, you may want to have your groomsmen and bridesmaids shoots right after, while everyone’s hair and makeup are still perfectly intact!

Make Time for Each Other

On the day of your wedding, you can easily get lost in the well-wishes and celebrations with all your friends and family around. This leads to little time spent with your better half, which is not the ideal scenario for a newly married couple. To avoid this, make sure to actively make time for each other during your day. If necessary, schedule short breaks in between all the dancing, eating, photos and mingling to simply enjoy each other’s company!

Choose your Best Man and/or Maid of Honour Wisely

It’s only natural to want your closest friends by your side when you’re getting married. When choosing the people who are going to help you prepare for your day, however, it’s important to consider whether they’re up to the task. Make sure they’re reliable and that they know how to ease your nerves, rather than aggravate them! This will help make your wedding day all the more enjoyable.

Pack an Extra Outfit (& break in those shoes!)

While this wedding tip usually goes out to the ladies, it can be a useful note to keep in mind for grooms, too. After the official ceremony, it’s time to have fun. And, if you’ve ever tried having fun in uncomfortable shoes, you know that it’s not going to be easy! This is why we suggest that you always break in your shoes before your wedding day. You can also pack an extra pair (just in case!). Moreover, having a change of outfit for your wedding reception may help you feel more comfortable as you dance the night away!

By keeping these wedding tips in mind, you can prepare yourself for anything that comes your way.
